Meet Lightning 100 (aka WRLT).
How a premier indie station connects music-lovers with music-makers.

Nashville has no shortage of dedicated music fans. Our Emma service helps us introduce them to the very best in independent and local artists.- Brian Waters

Battle of the bands.
Lightning 100 gave Nashville recording artists a boost in exposure and brought in new listeners with Music City Mayhem, a contest featuring 32 local up-and-comers. The station gave the bands airtime and collected listeners' votes using Emma's signup screen and survey features. All with no banjos or rhinestones in sight. (Not that there's anything wrong with that.)
We use Emma's customizable signup screen to register voters whenever we run contests. It's very straightforward, and you can add it to any web page.

Boosting the station and the local scene.
Music City Mayhem helped add more than 5,000 names to the station's email list. The finalists took the stage at Yazoo Brewing Company, another fab Emma client. The biggest winner? Nashville's music scene, which is thriving more than ever with Lightning 100's help — not to mention Emma's behind-the-scenes support, which, we like to think, is almost as key to attracting fans as great beer. Almost.
We're dedicated to engaging the local music community. So hearing from our listeners — hearing their voices — is one of our main goals, and with Emma, it's very easy to do.

User feedback made fast & easy.
Lightning 100 uses Emma's handy (and free with basic service) survey feature to collect votes. When the station wants to engage their community of listeners with questions about what they want to hear more or less, Emma provides a simple, quick, organized way to collect that info.
Our Emma surveys tell us what our listeners really want to see on our website and hear on the air.
