A couple of weeks ago, I posted about the importance of sending welcome emails to your new subscribers. Since then I've asked customers to share their own welcome emails on Twitter and Facebook, and now I'm back to pair their handiwork with some pretty compelling stats. Take a look and be sure to share your welcome strategy success in the comments!
1. Welcome emails are underutilized.
Only 57.7% of companies are sending welcome triggers. York County Convention & Visitors Bureau likes to stay above the curve, though. They've crafted a new welcome email with one of our free templates from the Welcome Collection. And come on, what's more effective than smiling people holding ice cream cones
2. When you send right away, engagement goes up.
Welcome emails tend to get higher opens and engagement across the board. Ten Thousand Waves is getting 60% open ad 29% click through on their brand new welcome email.
3. The people, they love a coupon.
And you don't need to give away the farm, either. Boogie Wipes is offering a 50 cent coupon in their welcome email, and it's getting an 80% click through. Chinet offered a welcome discount of $1.00 and boasted a 93% click through!
I'd love to see more examples of great welcome emails. Share yours in the comments, and we'll mail you an Emma t-shirt!
