Social Sharing is officially here!

Today, we’re thrilled to announce the arrival of Social Sharing for your email campaigns. Our latest feature makes it easy for your audience members to share your emails with their friends and followers on social networks like Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn. It’ll exponentially increase the reach of your emails. And we’re not the best at math, but we’re pretty sure exponents are a good thing. You’ll be feeling like a social media superhero in no time.

Here’s how it works:

+ You click an Add Social Sharing Options button as you’re creating your campaign and select which social network icons you want to appear on your emails.

+ After they receive your email, your recipients click an icon (or more than one, if that’s how they roll) and share a link to your email with their friends and followers.

+ Then you hop over to your Response page to see which audience members are sharing your email, and which networks are generating the most traffic to your campaign.

Interested in social sharing – how do we add it?

  2. Molly Niendorf Molly Niendorf says:

    Hi Jim,

Thanks for asking. Log into your account and open one of your campaigns in edit mode. You’ll see the option to add social share buttons at the top of the campaign. You can read more about Social Sharing here, and feel free to send us an email to support@myemma.com if you have any other questions!

will you be adding developer tools at some point?

  4. Molly Niendorf Molly Niendorf says:

Thanks for stopping by. If you’re curious about adding custom images to a campaign and creating share links, we have a way to do that. We’ll reach out to you to fill you in and see if you have other questions about our tools.

  5. Ken Lewis says:

Wondering if you have yet to integrate the feature that allows us to see which which social media networks each email address is associated with and their influence/social reach on the given networks?

  6. Molly Niendorf Molly Niendorf says:

    Hey Ken,

With Emma’s social sharing feature, you’re able to see the audience members who shared your email on their networks, and how much traffic you’re getting on those networks as a result of your audience sharing it with their friends and followers. Those details are all going to display on your Response page. You’re not able to see which audience members are generating the most traffic to your email, but it’s a great idea!

  7. I love this feature! Any chance you’ll add YouTube? We share a lot of videos and would like Emma to support video content in enewsletters through YouTube.

  8. Molly Niendorf Molly Niendorf says:

    Hi Jennifer,

Glad you’re enjoying the Social Sharing feature! We don’t have immediate plans for adding other networks, but I’ll reach out to you by email to find out a little bit more about how you’re sharing videos.

  9. We love the social sharing feature – brilliant! We used it today for the first time and are very happy with it. I did find that I had trouble using it myself, when logged into Facebook under my organization’s Facebook page (we like to share our own e-newsletters with our social media fans). Facebook seems to only want to let me share it as my personal page – Not Hands On Nashville. I can, of course, share it by copying and pasting the html link into the “links” field when logged in as Hands On Nashville, but it doesn’t format quite as nicely as it does via the social share button. Regardless, we really are happy with this new feature. Thanks for being so awesome, team Emma!

    Hey Becca,

Glad to hear you’re using the feature! The distinction about *where* to post can be tricky. We’ll reach out to you by email to explain some options.

  11. Pat O'Donnell says:

    Hello Emmaites,

I see there are more Social Sharing site that I have on my template. I only have Facebook, Twitter, email, and Linkedin. How do I get the others?

  12. Molly Niendorf Molly Niendorf says:

    Hi Pat,

The Social Sharing options in Emma currently include those four: email, Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn. It’s on our radar to add more networks in the future, but no immediate plans for which ones will be first in line. Let us know if you have a particular network you’d like to see in the mix.
